The New Stadium of Tizi Ouzou seats 50,000 and is home to JS Kabylie. The venue was built to exacting UEFA standards, covering everything from the pitch to the capabilities of the technical equipment installed. A 50,000-seat home built to UEFA standards
The New Stadium of Tizi Ouzou is the recently completed 50,000-seat home of JS Kabylie. The venue was built to exacting UEFA standards, covering everything from the pitch to the capabilities of the technical equipment installed.
That bar shaped the audio brief from the start. The system had to use EN-54-rated equipment, deliver a consistent sound level to every seating area, and give the stadium the flexibility to host non-sporting events. Turkish Electro-Voice and Dynacord partner Atempo, experienced across a variety of stadium projects, designed the system.
Meet UEFA sound values across an open 50,000-seat bowl
Stadium sound at this scale leaves little room for error. UEFA standards define both the sound level and the homogeneity of coverage, and every value had to land in line with the predictions made during the design phase. The open bowl also exposes every cabinet to harsh climatic conditions.
Beyond match day, the venue needed a system flexible enough for non-sporting events, with the reliability expected of an international sports event center.
One system from roof clusters to under-balcony fill
Atempo arrayed 112 weatherized Electro-Voice EVH-1152D cabinets in clusters of 3, flown from the stadium roof to cover the bowl seating areas. Under the balconies, 102 EVID-S5.2T and 4 EVID-S8.2 loudspeakers fill in the coverage to keep the sound level even throughout the stadium. EVH models reach output levels of up to 139 dB while maintaining balanced, consistent distribution.
12 Dynacord IPX10:8 power amplifiers drive the bowl system, and a pair of L1300FD amplifiers powers the EVID-S8.2 fills. An MXE5 Matrix Mix Engine serves as the brains of the system, with SONICUE Sound System Software used for efficient setup and a user-friendly, customized interface. 4 amplifier rooms connected by Luminex switches let the system run redundantly over the Dante network.

Measured in the finished stadium, the sound level and homogeneity landed in line with the values predicted during the design phase, giving even coverage and a great sound experience across every part of the venue.
Atempo worked closely with electrical integrator KYT Elektrik and main contractor Atlas Construction to complete the project. The result is a sports event center that complies with international standards, ready for match days and non-sporting events alike.
